Toast & Co.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The duality in the name comes from the craft breakfast experience – by day and mixology and speakeasy at night. ‘Toast’ is both the wildly popular breakfast item as well as raising your glass for a celebration. Co. is the abbreviation for ‘company’, referring to both the group of friends and the organization of a business. When I was working on the branding for this project I pulled inspiration from the ornate florals of vintage tobacco containers and match boxes. I wanted the branding to be simple and clear while taking inspiration from the art Nouveau era of design.
PROJECT GOALS:
-
- Create a proprietary branded/themed breakfast and cocktail experience
- Create a family experience by morning and mixology by night
- Build and design something in the village that has not been done before
The theme that we really wanted to come to life in this space was a prohibition inspired speakeasy with the charm of an eclectic breakfast establishment. Marble, vintage chandeliers, and complete china sets from estate sales, consignment shops, and garage sales are what contrived the dining experience. The goal was to create micro environments that included a traditional dining area, a library and a cigar parlor aesthetic.
